When a bump on the head sends Hank Morgan back in time to the England of King Arthur, it provides an opportunity for Mark Twain to shine his irreverent sense of humor on the shortcomings of the “perfect” society of Camelot. Hank is able to make use of his superior knowledge and technology to play on the superstitions and fears of the less sophisticated medieval Englishmen to keep himself alive in the face of their suspicion and hostility, and then rises to a position of power in Arthur’s court. How will Hank get back to his own time?
